It’s taken me over three years to send this only because everyone is always fired up right after training with you. I came into this biz from a crazy, exciting and totally exhaustive job of being P Diddy’s corporate attorney. Norm and I needed a little less frenzy to raise our kids. 40 months later, now having completed our objectives of buying an undervalued and distressed staffing firm, building it to above average performance and then selling it profitably…I can now accurately write the review you asked us owners to write on the plane after leaving Tall Pony Ranch, a.k.a “what do you mean that sound was a bobcat in heat”?
I started Morgan Method training with the 3 Day Recruiter Boot Camp/Tune-Up because Peter said you cannot just step in and learn to manage a process you know nothing about. So I trained as a recruiter and worked a desk with my team. About three months later, I came back for the 2 Day Management Clinic.
Morgan training is not for the faint of heart. Even though I didn’t have enough time in the business to have a lot of preconceived perceptions, Peters’methodology goes against your natural instincts. His whole philosophy is “Watch the crowd and move in the opposite direction.” Exactly at the time, you start thinking – “this can’t be real,” Peter will grab his cell phone, ask for a random telephone number from the group, make a call to demonstrate his methodology. And for those of you nodding and thinking “yeah, he can pull this off” – by the second day, everyone in the class is making those calls and everyone in the class is high fiving each other as we experience success after success.
He sprinkles in personal stories and real life analogies that can make you laugh until you cry, but it’s an intense training course with homework every night. I learned how to recruit Recruiters, what activity expectations to set, the most logical way to pay them and how to let my good ones rise to take over my job.
The hard work is coupled with the sheer beauty of the ranch and major highlight – Cindy’s cooking, which I guess you can’t enjoy now during this stupid virus. But really all you need is his content in a live zoom.
To summarize – the training is hard work, but worth every penny. The training is definitely contrarian and it takes a bit of mental gymnastics to wrap your head around it. However, as each hour passes, things start to click and by the end of training, I left dead tired, but feeling totally invigorated and ready to kick butt.
Postscript: Peter knew my husband was a serial entrepreneur and hooked us up with another client of his, in DC, who made us an offer we jumped at. They knew the Morgan system, so it was an easy one month exit for us. A chance to rest for a while.
So, Peter, I’m a little late. (and I’m not on FB) so do what you want with this and THANK YOU COWBOY!
