3 Day “Rookie” recruiting class
I just got home from the 3 Day “Rookie” recruiting class at the Tall Pony Ranch. First off I want to let everyone know they have NEVER been to training class like this. You enter the ranch and find a hay ride ready to take you to the training cabins. Most of the other “rookies” were looking around the timber and fields thinking to themselves, “what in the world have I got myself into”? As we arrive at the training cabin you find yourself on an acreage full of wildlife, tree’s and the small watering hole right outside the front porch of the cabin. We make our way up to the house for coffee and homemade blueberry muffins. We get to meet the resident chef, Cindy upon arrival. You already feel right at home, you’re not in a stale environment met by some cheesy trainer. After that, it’s right to business!
The training I received during this time was the best I’ve ever been too and trust me when I say I’ve been to more than my fair share of training. Every minute you are sitting with and working with Peter and the other students, you are learning new techniques. This isn’t the type of training that someone comes into and “knows it all”. In fact, we had an 8 year vet in the class and there was pretty much nothing in the class that he knew. This isnt because he was a bad recruiter, he ibilled 380K, I think. The techniques you learn at this class totally set you apart from any other recruiters in the field that haven’t already attended the training. There isn’t a moment that passes by during the 3 days that you find your mind wandering because the lessons are stale or boring. You will be fully engaged in role playing, learning and brain stimulating activities the entire time.
Now don’t think its all work and no play. During the breaks we had full reign to walk on the trails and look at the horses and other activities that happen at a working ranch.
Where to I even begin with the food? Ill start off by saying its nothing less than amazing. Cindy is a fantastic cook and always sneaking out more food when no one is looking! Nothing was store bought, everything was homemade and it felt like you were always eating at the best kept restaurant in Kansas City. You know the ones I’m talking about, the one that only the locals know about and want to keep it that way. Just when you think the meal is about over out pops another surprise that you just can’t refuse to eat. Bring your appetites people!
Peter’s experience really shows during this training and the lesson plan speaks for itself. If you werent confident in your recruiting abilities before coming to this class you will walk out feeling like Superman. You will be so comfortable here it will feel like Peter came to your house and taught you everything he knows.
I would personally like to thank Peter, Cindy, Bo, Robin and “Omi” for having me at the ranch; it’s been the opportunity of a lifetime and will not be soon forgotten. Time for me to go, I’ve got lots of money to make.
